Artist, Teacher, and Entrepreneur
Kristen Doering is a collaborative pianist and piano instructor based in Brooklyn. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in solo piano performance from the University of Kansas and a Master of Music degree in collaborative piano from The Juilliard School where she studied with Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman and J.J. Penna.
As an active performer and vocal coach, Ms. Doering is known for her sensitive and acute partnering skills as well as her warm and colorful sound. Ms. Doering has been seen on the stages of Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center, the Schola Cantorum of Paris, France, Hatch Recital Hall of Rochester, New York, Dr. Arturo Rando-Grillot Hall of Las Vegas, Nevada, The Folly Theater of Kansas City, Missouri, and Lawrence Arts Center of Lawrence, Kansas, among others.
Ms. Doering is also the founder and artistic director of Arts Fusion Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to innovative interdisciplinary programming and educational outreach.
In addition to her work as an artist. Ms. Doering is the Grantmaking Manager at New Music USA, a national non-profit committed to the vitality of the new music community.
